This certificate attests to a Rwandan national’s full name, parents, date, and place of birth, and not to be confused with the Birth Record Certificate (Acte de Naissance) that is issued by the sector. Additionally, you can now apply for a copy of your Birth Certificate online at www.irembo.gov.rw

Requirements to apply for a Birth Certificate with the Embassy:

• Photocopy of Rwandan ID or passport;
• Document(s) issued by a Rwandan competent authority stating the applicant’s parents, date of birth, and place of birth. (Usually “Attestation de Naissance", "Acte de Naissance" issued by the sector in Rwanda);
• Request letter signed by the applicant addressed to the Embassy;
